2005 Suburban LT w/ 72k miles. I have never (1 year) that I've owned this truck messed with the 4x4 set up. It was given to me when my 101 year old grandfather passed away. The red light came on and won't go away. No check engine light or other dash notifications.

Any help on how I can diagnosis and fix this issue?

Thank you!

Here are part numbers for your dash switch.

Sounds like this has the full-time AWD transfer case in it. This is definitley a Suburban? I didn't think they ever had that x-fer case, Yukon XL, Escalade's, some Sierra's etc. I know did.

This suburban has All-Wheel drive with Stabiltrak.

Here is the manual:

This truck stays in All-wheel drive and the red light never came on before...

Thank you for the correction. I wasn't able to find the part on RockAuto!
Same here, I noticed Rock Auto doesn't list them for the Suburban, only Escalade, Yukon XL, etc. That's why I was surprised to see the full-time AWD in a Suburban.

But hey with GM, stranger things have happened!

My 2008 Burb with Auto 4 wheel drive has a different button set up but the light comes on when the Stabil Tral is deactivated and goes off when Stabil Trak is operational. I take it folks are assuming a new button will solve the problem. Maybe check a Chevy forum.
