Well I got it drained down to the full mark. Not sure exactly how much I drained but it was between 1/2qt to 1qt to get it to the proper level. This truck is like no other on checking the oil after turning the engine off. If its at running temperature and you shut it off it takes a good 3 minutes before it shows the proper level. You can shut if off and wait 1 min and if it shows full you can wait about 5 min and it will be way above the full mark. My 2001gmc or my wifes 2006 Nissan Altima isn't that way. But its all good now.
