1995 Chevy Silverado 156,000--Which Oil

New guy here with a 95 Chevy Silverado that has 156000. I only drive it around town and to and from work. Roughly 5 miles to work. Thinking about putting Castrol GTX High Mileage Oil in it with a Wix Filter. Any other recommendations besides Castrol? Truck doesn't have any major issues that I am aware of.

Any recommendations is appreciated.

You have a 16 year old truck with a boatload of miles on it. Any brand name oil will work fine.
I would be sure I use the correct grade, check it regularly, keep it full, and change it on schedule.

Welcome to Bitog .With those engines,any quality oil thats on sale is what I use.These are 300k engines with just regular maintenance,and no hotrodding,etc.

what are specs on the truck anyway? (Eng,...Trans,...axle) ?

+1 I'm assuming a 5.7 liter v8 engine. Any name brand 10w30 dino or syn...take your pic, would be ideal for this engine. GTX would work great for this engine.

I got her back in September after telling the wife I couldn't drive a 2nd minivan around anymore. LOL. Only thing I have really had to do to it so far is put a new battery in it.
