If you're willing to spend $6 or so more on your oil, then I see Castrol EDGE 0W-40 in your future. It's LSPI proof at this point and will work much better in your application and stand up a heck of a lot better to the fuel dilution and the demands of two turbos that literally cook the oil inside of them. I'd recommend a good 5W-40, however, the Castrol EDGE 5W-40 US has been diluted to a 12.9 cSt@100 at this point and it will shear like hell.
Im using Castrol Extended Performance 5W30 in my Sonata Ltd and will leave it in full 15 000 miles. Maybe do a UOA afterward just to compare the results with Amsoil and the Caterham blend results I still have.
The Castrol synthetic oil seems to be real good.
I just noticed that I replied to a 4-year-old thread... I'm tired, that's for sure. How's your Sonata holding up? Did the motor blow itself to pieces or at least develop a rod knock with some cylinder wall scuffing by now? Just curious...
