Just got an email from Oil Analyzers regarding my first UOA. I am at work and will try to post when I get home.

Everything is evidently OK...except for "Nitrates" at 27...which they deemed "Critical".

When I spoke with them they said may be a trait of the Mobil 1 that the Nitrates are commonly high?

Any thought on this? I am changing to Amsoil 5W-30 ASL in a couple of days...not sure if the Nitrate level is something to be concerned about?

As an FYI...I also sent in a sampl to Blackstone...with a Dyson request. Thought it might be interesting for this first analysis. I will be interested to hear what they say...Thanks...Tom R

I like problem UOAs. High nitration tends to thicken the oil and increase chance of deposit formation in the engine. We'll see what's up when you post your UOA. Don't worry, the term "critical" here is probably not the best choice of word. Big coolant leaks and things that serious are what I'd call critical.
