Hello,

I was looking into using Red Lubegard in my 02 MDX. A drain and refill is a total of 4 QTS. My question is how much Lubegard should I use? I hear various answers such as, the whole bottle and subtract that from total refill. The second is 1oz per QT totaling refill amount or total refill amount plus 1oz per QT. Thanks for any input and clarification guys!

First drain + fill gets the dose for the whole transmission capacity.

Every subsequent drain + fill only gets enough for how much new fluid you put in.

1oz per 1qt.

I remember reading on the bottle to use 1 bottle of L-G RED per 10 quarts of fluid capacity. I don't know off hand the bottle capacity.

1 oz per qt of total transmission capacity. Of course subtract ounces of Lubegard added from the amount of ATF you refill it with so it's not overfilled.

Supposedly, even in subsequent drain and fills you should use this same formula even if that changes the ratio of Lubegard to atf. In the transmission. At least that's what the Lubegard rep said when I emailed them about it.
