'01 Ranger Tailgate Parts

2001 Ford Ranger XLT tailgate won't open as the catch won't release on the passenger's side. The plastic connector from the remote control link to the remote control is broken on the right side (left is a survivor!). See picture. What is the part number for this plastic connector or assembly? Is it 6L5Z-9943170-A or F37Z-99431A78-A or something different entirely? Or is it simply not available any longer?

1L5Z-9943400-AAA is the plastic handle that always breaks
F37Z-9943400-A is the metal handle that hardly ever breaks and swaps right in.

Sometimes we use that specific one in more than one spot. Usually one of our more McGyver customers will come in needing one that is disco duck and we usually stock those. They can be made to work where needed.
