This may help you.
Dump the fluid... you'll get what, 3.5 qts?
Refill with 1 qt M1 ATF, 2 qts Z1. Leave 1/2 qt or so free.
Drive it. the M1 is grippier and the 1->2 flare should be less. OTOH, it will engage reverse a bit more harshly and the upper gears will shift more firm.
Top off that last 1/2 qt with either Z1 or M1. Z1 to stay softer, M1 if you like what it's doing and want a little more.
Then consider if you want to trade it in or drive it until the 1-2 clutches wear out.
