    Caterpillar V60B Hydrostatic Trans

Good evening I have what I think is a Cat V60B with a hydrostatic trans and am wondering what trans fluid to put in it. I don't have the serial number but I suspect it's a late 60's early 70's machine. Any help is appreciated.

Would an aftermarket wheel affect TORQUE STEERING?

This may seem silly, but switch the tires from side to side and see if that changes anything. Tires can do weird things. I suspect that the Corolla has unequal length cv axles which will contribute to torque steer. Most high performance vechiles have equal length shafts - for instance the older...

Hi All. Has anyone ever put a bypass filter on a 1997 (92-00 are the same I think) Civic?

    Lift trucks

The valve does not leak externally. The symptom is that the forks lift slowly but if the steering wheel is moved they speed up. If the steering wheel is held in the right position the forks will operate normally. I suspect there is some bypass happening through the steering control valve. The...

    Lift trucks

Hi All. I have two new (to me anyway) Caterpillar M50D electric lift trucks. Both of them have sticky valves and it looks like the hydraulic oil filters were last changed in the 1990's. What would be the best oil to use in these to try to unstick the valves before I decide to tear down the...

    Synthetics and cold start wear

Are there tests anywhere that are not done by Amsoil etc. that indicate that synthetics can reduce cold start wear? I'm trying to decide if a pre-lube unit is necessary with synthetics. Thanks. Dropout

    Engine Flush questions (not ARX)

If diesel oil is used as a flush, what would the process be? 100 miles, 20 minutes, or the next oil drain? Will diesel oil harm a gas engine? Ethan

    Ford F450

Just wondering what people would recommend for the manual transmission and the rear axle of a 1995 F450 with a Hiab crane on it. This truck has a GVW of 15,000 lbs, and will usually rind pretty close to that. Thanks in advance.

    Kendall SHP

Does anyone have any experience with this oil? A trucking company close to me uses it and along with a centrifugal bypass filter regularly runs 100,000 km between oil changes. They had one truck that went 220,000 km before the oil was drained by mistake.

Can bypass system filter out oil additives?

Ok, but if the silicon level increases over time, how does one tell if the proper silicon in in the oil? Or is it the same stuff? If they're not the same, could "good" silicon be used up and "bad" silicon show an acceptable reading? What readings should I be looking for to make sure the...

Can bypass system filter out oil additives?

Thanks 59 Vetteman. Is something like Racor fuel filter a good idea then? At $500.00 (CDN) per injector, I'd like to have them last forever. Dropout

Can bypass system filter out oil additives?

Sorry for a silly question, but is the symbol for silicon SI? Some of the tests you indicated show thsi to be closer to 20 ppm.
