    Muffler question

Are you sure the muffler was the problem? Just because it looks bad doesnt mean it is. Look around and see if you have a rust hole somewhere or if the leak is coming from the manifold.

    Chevrolet 4.3 v6

My 94 chevy 1500 with the v6 was very trusty. I dont know how often the oil was changed before I got it, but it wasnt synthetic. These motors were supposed to be pretty good with the votec heads, which I had. I bought the truck at 118k, sold it at 137k, and it still runs to this day with no...

Self serve car wash with pressure washer

I love these self service pressure washers. They work great in the winter for getting all the salt off your paint and also for cleaning the underbody. It keeps all the dirt in the bay, and not on your driveway. I would never touch their brush though. If it isnt a soft hand mit, it wont touch my...

    Sound like a CV Joint?

Well I talked to my dad and we decided it was a job that we could tackle. I found a reman. half shaft from auto zone for 60 bucks. We are going to fix that first, and see what happens to the clunk. The sway bar in the front is held to the front of the frame, and when the suspension flexes, the...

Ok, thanks for your responses guys. I will for sure get it fixed asap, and still try and find that clunk. I appreciate the help!

    Sound like a CV Joint?

The clunk is just one clunk, and it sounds like something pops out of place and then back in. The boot has probably been ripped for a long time. There is no clicking, so maybe Im still safe. Ill take it in the week to get the boot replaced and see if they can find the clunk. If its not the ball...

    Sound like a CV Joint?

Do you think this is where my clunk is coming from? Or would it probably be part of the suspension?

First tune up I've done on my 5.3!

This is the next project for my truck. Its had a little bit of a rough idle since I bought it at 86k, so Im hoping this helps out a little bit. Congrats on doing it yourself! I was thinking about doing mine myself, but I think its a job better suited to someone with experience.

    Sound like a CV Joint?

Hello everyone, I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota 4x4 with 99k. I had a lower ball joint replaced in front on the passenger side about 10k ago. Ever since I have had the truck, there has always been a slight "clunk" or "pop" sound while turning in to parking lots that have a ramp from the street. The...

    Superchips Power Programmers

It looks like the SCT is only good on Dodge Dakota 4.7l up to 2003. Ive never looked in to getting the truck dyno tuned. Would there be any benifits to this being the truck is mostly stock? And how expensive is it? I think I found a transgo shift kit that is compatible with my trans. Im going to...

    Superchips Power Programmers

After looking father in to it (On superchips forum), I think Ill just skip the programmer. It seems alot of people have problems with it, like buying the programmer and having to wait months for glitches to be fixed. The $350 doesnt seem worth it to just have problems. Ive order the Airaid...

    Superchips Power Programmers

Im sorry steve, im not sure what a speed/density vs MAF system is. I have checked out the Diablo Predator but its not available for the Dakota. It looks like they are mainly for the Hemis.

    Superchips Power Programmers

Well it looks like for an intake Im going to try the Airaid Modular Intake Tube. Its within the budget and it looks like it will take away alot of restriction. I plan on having the intake, programmer, and exhuast on my truck by the middle of March. Now for the intake do I need to reset my PCM...
