Looks good to me. I pulled apart the upper end of my old 1987 Mercury 3.8 that had a steady diet of conventional high mileage oil and it looked brand new.

Why not just top off with the GC? If wont harm anything and you get the additives of the synthetic oil.

MOtorcraft and Mobile clean 5000 are both around 10 bucks for the gallon jug at walmart and the Wifes Kia liked them both.

Gonna try the Redline in the garage queen Camaro next week. I think I will top off the wifes Kia with some too when I change the filter. A mix of P.P. 5w30 and redline 0-30 should be interesting on the cold morning starts since it really attles the first 20 seconds or so

you are probably getting some cleaning of the ring packs which is allowing a little blow by. MMO works very good when left in for a full OCI

I have seen the 100% deisel trick before. It cleaned the motor really well and didnt seem to have any side effects after running for 5 minutes or so. I would not do this to an engine I own though.
