Oops...the sonata didn't have the 3.8. Don't know where I picked that up. Never took the cartridge cover off after long inactivity to look for oil (If it isn't broke, don't fix it).

2006 KIA Sedona with the Hyundai built 3.8. Filter cartridge on top. Same engine in the 2006 Hyundai Sonata EX.

I have heard no tapping on my 2006 model year 3.8 and each time I unscrew the filter housing it's full of oil. This tells me there's an anti-drainback valve which is why they say to wait 5 minutes.

I prefer rotella 5w-40 for my 1997 7.3 PSD but since buying 14 qts of synthetic would have my cloths thrown in the yard, I'm using cheap 15w-40. Delo seems to be what my truck likes best of oils I've run.

Are we discussing Q-Advanced or Full Synthetic? Hasn't the Full Syn been replaced with the Q-Advanced. The Q-Advanced data sheet is most impressive. CCS of 5-30 is better than PP's 5-20.

This test was done August 2005. We know that PP has reformulated to GIII since then. I believe QS Q-Power was not the Quaker State tested as well.
