    ES300 smoking brakes

No. The pedal was very soft and the brakes were weak. The calipers were reluctant to compress so I replaced them. The pedal feels better and the car stops ok but the fronts are overheating for some reason. I believe I have a leak at the "Load sensing proportioning valve" I have not had the time...

    ES300 smoking brakes

The caliper pins were pre lubed and I used pads that came with hardware.

    ES300 smoking brakes

This is my wife's car, 1993 ES300. Nearly every night when she pulls in, the front brakes are smoking. I have replaced both front calipers and brake hoses and the problem persists. Master cylinder? I hope not.

    Fuel Filter recommendations

1982 Kawasaki KZ550 I have been using generic sintered bronze 1/4 fuel filters for years. My current one has let me down. Two carb bowls were full of garbage and two emulsifier tubes were nearly clogged. Any recommendations for an affordable fuel filter? I have been recommended a 10 micron...

    Is Premium gas necessary?

Those of us that have old bikes with mechanical slide carbs and centrifugal spark advancers may benefit from higher octane gasoline, especially if you like to accelerate without downshifting. CV carbs, and later fuel injection and electronic spark advance eliminated a lot of the need for...

    1157 LED recommendations

These are the lights I went with. Brighter than the incandescents, they fill the housing with light, and the rest of my lights don't dim when I hit the brake. https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo...trofit-car/808/

time to bring our overseas assets home.

Never going to happen. The CIA makes too much money from drug sales and toppling foreign governments. The world would be a much more stable place if JFK had his wish and torn down the CIA.

Voyager 2 is like the Energizer Bunny

https://eyes.nasa.gov/dsn/dsn.html Two days ago, the Deep Space Network was receiving from Voyager 2. Right now it is receiving from New Horizons. I am too young to remember any of Voyager's planetary encounters. The Voyager program is arguably NASA's greatest accomplishment. We are all very...

    Greece collaspes.

At least Greece bankrupted themselves spending borrowed money on their own people. We are not far behind. The difference is, we spend our borrowed money on handouts to defense contractors, any sort of big business, the bourgeoisie, and pretty much anyone who does not need a handout. Before I...

    1157 LED recommendations

Looking for some 1157 LED recommendations, for a motorcycle taillight that contains two bulbs. This bulb is highly recommended in a thread on the KZ forums but it is a few years old. https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo...trofit-car/808/ I found a few other bulbs that may work...

    Round LED DRL

Any recommendations for a round LED housing/bulb assembly, DRL only? This is for a motorcycle application. I wish to use LED's for the amp draw advantages (this motorcycle has a weak charging system, a new charging harness has been constructed and every charging component is brand new except...

Any Railfans here? Going to Rochelle, IL this week

As a child I had the pleasure of riding on 611 and 1218 before NS shut down their excursion program. I remember the car ahead sounded like it had a flat spotted wheel that kept banging the whole time. I don't think the mighty 1218 minded much though.

Motorcycle brake fluid rapidly changes color.

It is not leaking at all. I will continue to flush it regularly until it does. I did check out your site as I am always interested in seeing anyone's old motorcycle, especially if they have not destroyed it by cutting it up and turning it into a bobber. I have not had as much luck as you did...

Motorcycle brake fluid rapidly changes color.

I have an issue with brake fluid degrading rapidly. 1982 Kawasaki KZ550. This bike has a single front caliper, floating style. I have replaced the master cylinder with a new unit, and replaced the rubber brake line with a SS braided line. I flush the brake fluid at least once a year. The...
