While reading up on this I've found some new terms that are relevant to what we're discussing.
vclf - venturi combo lube filter
dual flow filter
Fleetguard venturi filter line
Baldwin high velocity dual flow
venturi combo
I also found that there is a single inlet/ single outlet as well as a...
I run the Fleetguard LF9028 on my cummins powered truck and love the idea of built in bypass filtration. I have a chevy and a ford I'd like to get a similar filter for. Is there a product line that makes filters like the LF9028 in other dimensions?
Are you running high OCI and only driving the car short distances? "thin film" makes me thing your condensation in the crank case may not be getting out. Shorten your OCI, consider running a qt or two (depending on capacity) of atf mixxed in with the oil if your really trying to "clean" the...
Can't see the pictures here at work but I'll throw my .02 in from my experience with those motors. The spring in the air flow meter on those are known for loosing tension and in turn starts to run on the lean side. Run a top engine clean to get rid of any carbon build up, adjust the air flow...
Some of the comments on here I find funny. Owners manuals aren't bibles to be followed by every letter. Maintenance schedules are designed to sell the cars, not to keep them on the road for 100k plus. Waiting until there's an issue to perform maintenance? Some folks on here go to such extremes...
I've read that the gray fuel lines (I have the gray kind)rot internally. I'm planning on replacing it tomorrow. I tried firing it up tonight and got nothing. Pulled the plugs and just had a varnished fuel smell.
I've seen a youtube video of a guy putting mobil1 80w-90 gear oil in the pump. I...
A bit of a rant here but [censored]? Their product isn't exactly cheap compared to thier competitors so I assumed the quality of product and service would be ahead of the rest. I shot em a short email asking what cost, cost of shipping, recomendations on oriface size and what their thoughts were...
Hey guys. I'm looking to add bypass filtration to my 96 CTD. I like the idea of the frantz style housings but not incredibly fond of the price. Is there any alternatives? Thanks!
The threads are different, I'd have to buy a new head. If what I have isn't usable I'll be going this route.
As far as conventional maintenance goes, your correct. This little project couldn't hurt if it worked properly and I think it's kinda cool.
Hey guys. Reading up on coolant filtration and I came across a post on here by trynew where he said using an oil filter inline with a heater hose will work. Has anyone on here done it?
I have a 96 dodge ram where the heater core was clogged when I bough it. Shortly after repairing that the...
