We have a 22 CX-5 with cylinder deactivation and have never even noticed it.

2022 Toyota Tacoma 3.5L OUT: Dealer supplied 0W-20 (Toyota Care) IN: My supplied Quaker State Ultimate Protection 5W-30 Mileage 14,685 OCI 4,879 Had it changed at the local Toyota Dealer, they were fine with using my supplied oil and had no issues with using 5W-30.

On our 22, I did a change at 1K, then every 5K thereafter. Currently at 28k and running well.

I'm switching to 5W-30 in our CX-5 on next change.

Four jugs of QSUP, this will be the new oil for the fleet.

We have a 2022 CX5, although the combined fasteners are a minor annoyance, oil changes are still very easy on these cars.

I am in a rental this week and for the next few subsequent weeks. The car is 2023 Malibu with the 1.5L turbo. As a curious BITOGer, I decided to check the oil level. Oil seems ready for a change but not my car. I have always wondered what kind of service these rentals get.

The driver had been ticketed just a few weeks ago for failure to register a motor vehicle.

Driver was a young guy, probably 18-19, driving his truck with a couple dirt bikes in the back.

All the likely we did the same, paused, looked both directions, saw stopped cars, and then the kid flew through the intersection and BAM!

Everybody involved lived, but a passenger in the other car left in an ambulance, there car rolled once airborne and again after landing. If I had been quicker out the gate I would have been dead.
