I would go with the Toyota Tacoma with 2.7 4cyl or 3.4 V6 depending on your needs for power, great service, good mpg, very good resale. Or you could wait for the 2005 Honda truck if you don't mind not having a real frame or low range in 4wd. Small bed though.

I found on my vehicles that I cannot check in the driveway since its not level, have to move vehicle out to street to level ground before checking, makes big difference in oil level doing so, shows about a pint difference on the stick with either vehicle.

I tow a 2,000 lb boat with my toy 4X4 PU 2.4, was using 15W-50, changed last yr to 0W-40 M1 for better mpg and got it, then this week I changed to the new M1 Truck/SUV 5W-40. I notice the 5W-40 makes the engine quite a bit quieter. Probaby gonna stick with the Truck/SUV oil for good.
