The 10W30 is ACEA A3 rated, rare for a _W30. That means it hold visocsity under HTHS 150C test.
Would this be a good thing in an engine that is hard on oil. (2.7 chrysler).
There is the 5/30 newer car formula. THen there is the 10/30 full sythetic high milage formula. It states formulated with special additives to keep engine cleaner and so on.
I was wondering if this oil by defition would have a strong additive pack. What makes it high milage. The 5/30 (new car formula) has shown to be a little weak.
My vehicle is a 1998 chrsyler concorde 2.7 with 70k on the odometer. It has never gone more then 3000 miles between oil changes and I have ran auto rx twice. I have yet to pick a steady oil. I am low a quart after 1500 miles but do not leak or burn visibly. I was thinking swithing to max life...
I just got a oil change on a new car. I asked walmart to put a supertech filter if they had one. They ended up putting a fram on. Will this protect me fine for 3k or should I swap it out myself early.
I have toyota "world standard" in the transmission. It is very expensive I hear. Is there a aftermarket synthetic fluid that I can use to replace. It says on the dipstick no need to change unless towing. I may tow very lightly.
I have that tow kit also which was a good value. I like the idea of mobil 1 it the front and rear diff. The dealer was trying to tell me I need to change the tranny fluid along with the front and rear diff every 15K. That seems overkill. Although I may change out once at around there do get out...
Thanks for the responses. What milage are you highlander drivers getting on the highway. I am leaning towards either penzoil or mobil 1 syn 5w/30. I may pick a good oil filter and let walmart change it for me while I double check to make sure everything was done right. I am afraid the dealer...
Hi, I have a new vehicle to think about. It is an awd. What do you guys recomend for tranny, and front and rear diff. as far as oci and fluid type. thanks
I went with 3 oz maintance dose and napa 5w/30 conventional oil. I am trying protect engine and prevent sludge. I have the infamous dodge 2.7 liter 58k no sludge detected with original auto rx treatment.
