I don't know about fixed wing too much but a helicopter for instance can be built from the data plate alone. You have a data plate you can have a helicopter. On the pressurisation thing - some A/C can go longer than others, one of the reasons you see so many Convair 540's around.

I'll second that -20C even push it to -25C after that with 5W30 you'll notice hard starting. Timer is a definite!

12 pt sockets are for 12 pt nuts.

I recall from a friend who used to maintain these old Detroit 2-strokes that it has to do with ash content. It's a very well documented mode of failure if an oil doesn't meet the ash spec.
