Hello all,
I know I have seen a bunch of threads about Super Tech oil at Walmart saying being blended Warren Distributor’s.
I was at Walmarta few days ago talking to one of the techs while browsing motor oil. He told me that Super Tech is being blended by Mobil 1 for Walmart?
Has anyone else...
I know with my fathers 18 Forester. When I took it for one of his free oil changes. They used Idemitsu 0W-20... I have heard of Idemitsu oil before but personally never used it. His car is under warranty so whatever the dealer uses for his car.
Personally I have used Castrol for 25 plus years...
Maybe Castrol is using Florida as a test market.
On YouTube their is a mechanic (not Scotty Kilmer) who ran the Shell Rotella Truck & SUV oil in a Ford Edge with the 3.5. He ran it for 250 meter hours which I believe he stated was close to 8k-10k. Sent an oil sample to Blackstone labs...
I was curious about that oil also. I have seen it at a local Menard’s store here in USA. Not at Walmart or on Amazon.
Nothing on the QS USA site but saw it on the Canadian site.
Not going to run due to it is not API certified.
Mistakingily I stated it was.
My apologies for that, but per the email response I got.
It is not API certified.
Hello all,
My apologies.
I misread the oil spec sheet.
I also got an email response from Cerma.
Quoted from email response.
"No we are not API certified. The certification is a self reporting certification that costs $75.000 per sku to get certified. We start with an already API certified SN...
Hello all,
A little clarification.
I am not advocating the oil.
Just trying to find out some information about the oil.
I did find on the website if you click on the motor oil of your choice. Under there is a link to a spec sheet.
According to that the motor oil is API certified.
Why they are...
Hello all,
I was doing some research and ran across a motor oil called Cerma.
Based out of Dennison,TX.
Have some interesting looking synthetic oils.
Anyone heard anything good/bad about those oils ?
Just curious.
Thank you.
Well that may have been the straw that broke the camel's back. Like I said let sit in your garage 2-3 days with some heat blowing on the motor.
Don't dig it's grave yet. I have a 97 Gran Marquis with 254k miles on it. I can't kill it.
If you have the time and space in a garage. Leave it sit for a few days with some kind of heater blowing warm air on the motor.
Maybe that might dry your motor out. The stater clicking sounds like it was not getting enough volts to click over or the starter solenoid might be fried,
Thank you too those that provided.
Been thinking of switching from my long time Castrol use maybe to Pennzoil Platnium High Mileage or Pennzoil Ultra.
Before doing that on old hully (my Gran Marquis) I have to find and fix the oil leak, with I believe is around the valve covers.
It is not...
