    Honda Engine Oil choice

Thanks for all of the responses, they give me some reassurances. Roob, besides doing my own oil changes on my cars, I have a lawn mowing service that I do all of my own maintenance on a number of machines. The variety of lubricants I need to stock is considerable, just trying to keep them to a...

    Kohler 26HP v-twin problems!!! Help!

I would look closely at your owners manual for the correct oil to use in your Command. It has hydraulic lifters and 10W-30 is the recommended oil. In my experience in my cars, the Motorcraft oil was consumed at a surprising rate compared to the Castrol conventional which required no add oil...

    Honda Engine Oil choice

We have just acquired a 2011 Accord (4 cyl) and I noticed that this engine uses 0W-20 motor oil. I also have a 2004 Element that uses 5W-20 motor oil. I would like to stock just one oil for both cars. I do not want to go to the lighter oil in the Element (110,000 miles). The Accord will spend...

    Kohler CH730 oil option

Thank you for your input guys. I was considering synthetic also, will prob try that on the next OC along with the larger filter. The engine is getting tired but is still getting the job dome. We do make sure it is kept clean, every little bit helps.

    Kohler CH730 oil option

We have a well used CH730 on a stump grinder with over 700 hard hours on it. I am considering switching over to a HD 15-40 oil for the warm months. Any opinions on this change? Will the lifters be affected with the heavier oil? Just want to extend this motor as far as possible.

    Cub Cadet HTF cross reference

After reviewing everyone's comments, thank you all. I decided to go with the JD Hy-Gard equivalent. I have 3 hydro commercial mowers and am very familiar with their requirements. Just needed some insight for this tractor as it belongs to my neighbor and he lets me borrow it occasionally. In...

    Cub Cadet HTF cross reference

I have a Cub (model 7254) and I need to know a suitable substitute for Cub Cadet Hydraulic Transmission Fluid. Trying to avoid overpaying for Cub branded fluid if there is a more generic fluid that will get the job done.

    25hp Kohler.

I have had very good luck with the Amsoil ASE. Started using it last year in all of my commercial and personal equipment and have been very satisfied. As a bonus, it fulfills the recommended requirement for both Kohler and Kawasaki so I only need to stock one oil. Sent a sample to Blackstone and...

2-Stroke mix ratio for '91 snowblower

I just picked up a '91 MTD snowblower with a Tecumseh 2-stroke engine. The manual recommends a 32:1 mix in the fuel. With the new oils, is that ratio still necessary? I currently run Stihl (Orange bottle) 50:1 in all of my handheld equipment. Would that mix work in the blower without causing...
