Honda oil is blended for them by Apollo America- they have a website. Just got back from Honda Outboard Fuel Systems class, FWIW. Jim

New Honda OHC mower. D1 OK ?

Use what Honda says. When you take off the valve cover and see that plastic camshaft with only one lobe for 2 valves, it will shock you. They know what works. Same with the string trimmer. Plastic cam, little teeny tiny pushrods. Honda says 10-30 in everything- Outboards, Generators, Mowers...

    Hard starting when cold??

Forgot to mention to have the throttle wide open- and make sure it's on the intake stroke and not the overlap. You want to build positive pressure in the intake system. This will also let you find any intake leak like was mentioned above. Jim

    Hard starting when cold??

This is VERY crude, but if your carbs are NOT diaphram-style, try it. Open the float drains (gas off) Remove the spark plugs. Close the choke. Turn the engine over until the intake valve is open on say, #1 cylinder. Use a rubber tipped air gun and blow into the spark plug hole for a few seconds...

    Antifreeze in Dodge CTD?

ARE YOU SERIOUS? A 21,000lb trailer? You are way over loaded and a hazard on the highway. The term 'panic stop' comes from vehicles like yours. Get real and buy a suitable tow vehicle! I doubt the Dealer (or Cummins) would warranty squat if they knew what you were doing with it. No disrespect...

    synthetic /oil pressure

Don't worry about the oil pressure too much. The Cummins has massive main and rod bearings, it's a low RPM engine and depends on volume, not pressure. 10 PSI at idle and 30 at max RPM is all it needs. I do belive you are over-changing it though. My oil analisis came back above average even after...

    Synthetic or dino from factory?

HO47, it's an air cooled 330 ATP. I'm beginning to wonder about the no sythetic for XX amount of miles thingee also. Ferrari,Porsche,BMW,Mercedes all come with syn from the factory. I was curious why Honda doesn't say anything about synthetics. I am using Redline 10-40, it gets cold in the...

    polaris atv gear/ transmission oil

For what it's worth, I tried Redline 75-90 in front, rear and trans. It seemed like it had a slight 'drag' to it. Seeing that it's only a 330, I wanted the most I could get out of it. So I switched to the Lightweight Shock Proof Gear Oil. Believe it or not, it seemed to gain about 1-2 MPH VS...

    Synthetic or dino from factory?

Could somebody explain to me how (or why) my Polaris ATV (air cooled) comes with synthetic motor oil in it from day 1, and which is recommended, while Honda power equipment (air cooled) comes with dino oil from the factory and synthetic is not even mentioned? I am using these 2 manufacturers for...

    mt90 & 75W90NS

Long Run, unless your truck has a limited slip rear end, the NS is what you use. Kind of confusing, the NS is for rear ends with OUT limited slip. The regular 75-90 has a friction modifier in it. I would also go with the MTL for the trans, it will shift a lot smoother and quicker than the...

    mt90 & 75W90NS

Excellent choices, but have you thought about MTL for the trans? It has worked for me and also lowered my trans temp 40 degrees while towing! After using it for the last 140,000 miles I won't use anything else. ( 93 Dodge Cummins with 5 speed)I use the 75-140 in the axles and 75-90 in the...
