DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY CROSS-REFERENCE INFORMATION FOR A JOHN DEERE OIL FILTER AM125424C? THEY APPEAR TO BE MADE BY CHAMPION LABS AND HOME DEPOT GOUGES, I MEAN CHARGES $10 FOR THEM--I'M TRYING TO FIND OUT IF I CAN PURCHASE A REPLACEMENT FILTER A LOT CHEAPER UNDER OTHER BRAND NAMES SO I NEED CROSS-REFERENCE INFORMATION. (SUPERTECH,STP,VALUECRAFT, FRAM, PUROLATOR, ETC)

Madmike'

My NAPA (WIX) catalog lists an AM125424 (no "C") cross referencing to a NAPA filter 1056. 1056 crosses over to a Purolator L35310.

If these are not common car filters, they may not be stocked at many places. A NAPA gold will run about $5 to $6.

As always, I tell everyone to confirm these numbers for yourself. Cross referencing sometimes yields mistakes.

I just bought a ST3614 (492932 Briggs) filter for my Craftsman. It's easier to remember to that a filter from a 95 Neon will cross to the tractor, the only difference is the length.

i found the info here and gardenweb.

My JD LX178 uses the same filter as a 1991 Geo Prizm. It crosses over to a Fram PH4386 or a ACDelco PF1234.

My engine is a Kawasaki 2-cylinder waterpumper and I don't believe it uses the same filters as the Home Depot products.

The Motorcraft FL 400S will fit!! Longer than the 3614 and with a "real" bypass valve up front. Funny thing, the same filters fit my Toyota Tundra's V8 - so I only have to purchase one filter size for the truck and tractor [Smile] !!

Hey, me too. This is the same size as my Saab so it's a coincidental convenience [Big Grin]

The bypass relief is higher than the JD filter but I haven't experienced any problems or oil pressure changes.

Are these direct cross-references from a catalog or are you guessing based on filter dimensions? I'm just wondering why the ST 3614 does not come up as a cross reference in any of the catalogs or the Motorcraft---is there any danger in using these instead of the direct cross referenced filters from the chart above which I have confirmed? Thanks!

Some of the cross references take a little more work. The 3614 cross to a fram based on gasket, can size and bypass. Some of the above cross references can't be found on automotive shelfs which negates the purpose.

I just look up a 95 Dodge Neon, that's my cross and easy to remember.

I am late to the party, judging from the date of the original post, but you might try a John Deere tractor dealership for the filters. My experience is that the Deere mowers themselves are expensive, but service and especially parts are cheap.

I guess that varies from dealer to dealer. The dealer close to me is quite expensive. [Frown]

What would you consider 'cheap' for a John Deere brand oil filter? I can't imagine it would be around $2-4.
