Hi all,

Second UOA for this OCI - First one is here:
http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2529291#Post2529291

I changed the oil and filter since XL was about a month overdue on time ended up running it out to 14,000-km/7-months over the winter.

This sample I took from the oil stream out of the pan after letting it drain for 5 seconds. The previous sample was from the dipstick fill tube - I'm not sure I got the tube deep enough into the crank case on the first sample but it seemed to be mixed up enough.

Everything is as I would expect it except for the drop in Boron - not sure what that could indicate.
No makeup oil added for either sample.

Put XLF and the Mann filter back in the vibe for the summer. The plan is to run that until October and then go up to the signature series for the winter keeping 6 month OCI's because of the fuel dilution.

Almsot 9k miles, and single-digit wear over a Canadian winter.

NOTHING to complain about there!

2010 Kia Soul 2U - 2.0L I-4, auto; 152k miles.
Castrol Edge (black bottle) 5W-30; Fram TG 9688.

2009 Pontiac G5 - 2.2 I-4, auto, 121k miles.
Oil/filter TBD

Fuel dilution is up and yet is not affecting wear at all!

Very nice. Good TBN left too. I don't agree with the severity 3 (***) on the TBN - plenty of mileage left in that oil. Could have gone perhaps to 20k-km ???

Nice Amsoil UOA performance!

The act of preventative maintenance, in and of itself, is FAR MORE important than brand/grade/base choices among lubes and filters.
- under maintaining something is akin to abuse/neglect; that can kill equipment by shortening the lifespan
- over maintaining something has never been proven to be anything but a waste of time and money
