I know that there has been a bit of discussion on this, loosely in some other threads. About a month ago I picked up a case of this for $3.95 per Qt with a $20 rebate. That was about $2.31 per Qt. The rebate is no longer offered but it looks like Advance is trying to move the rest of it to make room for other products. Now it's down to $2.95 per Qt.

If you go to the site, you will only see the original $6.59 price. You will have to check online ("Check Store Availability") or call to see if it is in stock. Ask them what the price is, or have them ring it up to check. I know that it's been discounted at two of my local stores (I've purchased two cases so far). Again - The site price is full price. The in-store price is $2.95.

It's not free, but it's still the best price I've seen lately for synthetic 5w-20. That brings the average 5 Qt oil change to $14.75 for synthetic. Peak is generally considered to be a good oil and these are made by Warren Performance Products. The synthetic bottles are branded "WNE".

Only 5w-20 has this price since it's on clearance. Other Peak syns are full price. Check clearance shelves or end caps if it isn't in the oil section.

So this clearance price for Peak is at all AAP stores Nationwide?

Or is it just a few select markets?

Thanks.

Not sure, but it seems to be the case near Chicago. I saw a post from someone else who was in another state, so it may be nationwide.

I think that they are making room for more Dexos certified oils.

Did you ask the staff? One store had a case in the back. Some was on an endcap without a price on the oposite end of the store, away fom the oil.

Thanks for your post! I just picked up a case/12 quarts of Peak, Full Synthetic, 5w-20, SN, GF-5 at Advance Auto for $2.92 a quart plus tax. $35 for a case of Full Synthetic is good any day of the week.

Ok! Now the remaining stock is $1.95 per quart! I just picked up 18 more bottles.

When it is all said in done, between the rebates and discounts I will be changing this car with $2.20 per quart synthetic 5w20 oil changes for the next few years.

That sure is a good deal for $1.95 a quart. If this is nationwide....there won't be much left by the weekend.

All of the Advance Auto stores that I visit.....say they are completely out of stock on this Peak Full Synthetic, 5w-20, SN as well as the great Valvoline MaxLife, Full synthetic, HM oil in API-SM.

I wonder if Peak forgot to add some kind of special ingredient into this Full Synthetic Oil, during the blending process, if they are looking to clear it out at $1.95?

We shall never know........

So....if there is some of these oils available at an AAP store near you, and you need some oil, get some while it lasts.

Because once it's gone......it's gone.

I'm pretty certain that it is just about shelf space. If you look at the clearance shelf lately they have been getting rid of all sorts of odd weights and slower selling oils to make way for all of the new Dexos stuff. Most people who buy "economy" brands have little or no interest in this synthetic. I would see no reason to buy this over any other brand at the normal price. Note that it wasn't pulled from the shelves anywhere else, and I bet that the product is identical to Walmarts Supertec syn product which still seems to be available

IMO....Peak Full Synthetic is most likely the same as QSUD and WalMart Full Synthetic.

IMO...No big difference between all three. QSUD has the Dexos License....while WM and Peak did not/refuse to pay for the Licencing Fee's.
