I would love to see a VOU of RL 5/30 I think I may be giving that a try in my Evo Next oil Change. Actually to me Redline is the best price of all the "botique" oils out there.

Which lab did you use? I had the same oil tested by Blackstone. Put both results together for comparison.

Unk Lab : Blackstone

moly 753 : 673

boron 30 : 32

na 18 : 17

cal 2426 : 2632

mag 10 : 8

phos 1090 : 1388

zinc 1166 : 1707

RL 5W-20 is a rather old formulation albeit a very unique one.
It's HTHS vis of 3.3cP and 145 VI leaves it with very few applications.
RL's much lighter 0W-20 is targeted as a light hybrid oil but with it's HTHS vis of 2.7cP and 166 VI is still considerably heavier than the ultra low vis' high VI oils such as the Toyota and Honda Brand 0W-20's with their 2.6cP HTHS vis' and 200 plus VI's.

A certain tribologist used to recommend this oil for extended drains on vehicles that are spec'd for 5w30. With a HTHS of 3.3, I can see why.
