I've had the car a little over 100,000 miles. Previous oil had been Mobil1 in 5W30 or 10W30 (depending on season) with 5000 mile changes during that time. This is the first fill of Redline. Filter's are dealer replacement. The air filter has been in there for about forever. The oil filter is 90915-YZZF1.
The car sees some track. That was the reason for the switch. I was told that the oil temperaures could go north of 300°F while out there.
The two samples were close together because the first was the day before the track weekend and the second is after including the drive up and back and then some normal commuting. No oil change. Here's a sound clip of the severe service it sees (from july). Normally we get six sessions of ~20 minutes.

There was no make-up on the first sample. The second is with 1/2 quart. I was warned to keep it a little overfull because of pickup problems in the turns.

The Silicon doesn't bother me. The VOA had 15.
The oil is still in the car. I may sample again before I change it.

Look great with low wear metals and high TBN, you can easily run this Redline oil until 10-12k miles. The next sample should be around 10k oil miles

I was thinking the same thing until I realized he said the VOA had 15 PPM of silicon. Both these samples came in at 16 PPM, so you can't argue with success.

The theory, of course, is that older filters actually work better than new ones. Interesting..

Lookin Good! My tacoma loved Redline 5w-30. Every UOA I had performed had great numbers. I might switch to RL 5w-20 this spring. Man you sure were wringin that thing out at the track! Sounds good.
