Blackstone: Thanks for the note about changing your air filter. We'll likely see silicon lower in the next sample. At 56,679
miles the 5.6L that powers your Titan continues to wear very well. This is the longest oil run that we've seen from your
engine and other than the increase in lead very little change was found. Lead at this level isn't a problem and we
wouldn't be surprised if it retreated in the next sample. If you did any heavy towing or hard driving on this fill that would
explain the increase. No problems were found.

My thoughts:

For clarification, this is indeed GC 0w-30 (the M07 batches), not the Mobil1 0w-40 that i copied and forgot to edit out. I've been driving fairly hard lately, i would probably admit to driving 80mph on the freeway to work almost everyday for the past month or so. The GC 0w-30 uoa of 2006 were mostly green GC with about a qt of gold GC.

You could be going at least 2 to 3 times further on an oil change.

I would have liked to have seen the TBN at the end of the last oil usage.

Thanks for all the inputs so far. i didnt feel the need to get a TBN based on my previous UOAs. I would assume the TBN would be either in the high 4's or around 5 but i did really beat on the oil by driving kind of hard for this sample. Any reason to worry about the increase in Tin and Lead?

Random ticks. Just a spike in noise. Go longer and still sleep well at night. What's your time frame here? There has to be some gaps in the UOA testing.

-I could extend my oil drains a bit longer but i drive fairly hard nowadays. Also not to mention alot of hauling. This truck is a tough beast to tame, can't help it much at times but to rev her up.

-Gary, what do you mean by my time frame? Well i don't know if this is the answer you wish to seek but I usually change out my oil around every 3-4k miles (which is around every 2 months for me due to my drivings). I plan on doing UOA every 10-15k miles. When i do the UOA sampling, i usually take the sample during the middle part of the drain. But for this most recent one, i took it when it was near the end part of the drain.

Sorry to say this, but gas is $4/gallon, and you're driving a V-8 80 mph on the highway? You must have a LOT of money to burn!

That's why my nickname is "highroller" hehe jk. Honestly, i feel i should drive slower. Gas prices aren't coming down anytime soon and im not getting a pay raise anytime soon either.

I would go back to the M1 0W40 as it did better over all. Your lead level while still low is 6 times higher then it was with M1 0W40. While the total number is not that significant the 6 fold increase in it is. Yor lead number is not equal to tyour iron number which tells me that this engine likes something a tade thicker then the GC 0W30. So either go back to the M1 0W40 or try RTS 5W40.
