Hi,

I own a Harley with Evo 1340 motor and i have been using Motul 7100 20w50 in the engine for last 3 years, i think it's a great oil but i was thinking about changing it for a car oil since i don't need JASO additives, my bike doesn't share oil between engine and clutch / transmission.

Many people reports good performance using Valvoline VR1 in their bikes which is a car "racing" oil without JASO standard.

Now planning to switch to Motul 300v, car version not the motorcycle variant.

Both tech data:

What do you think about this?

Yeah it should work for sure but i would like to know if someone has tested this oil in any vehicle or in a VTwin motorcycle, i have read very good opinions about 300v for motorcycle used with racing bikes but not cruisers

And which viscosity index should be recommended for this kind of use.

The Motul 7100 Ester is one of the best MC oils on the planet. You've ran it for 3 years...why change? Having said that, I've ran the Vr1 dino 20w50 in an Evo and my current TC with no problems. Sunruh, the BITOG MC oil guru ( my opinion ) speaks highly of the Vr1.

This engine is EASY on oil!

Run whatever - it'll still go 50,000+ miles effortlessly on the cheapest 15w-40 out there.

I have a 1988 Softail... with it's 4th speedometer, I have forgotten how many miles are actually on it.
