A friend asked me to install a vinyl planking floor, for money, about 600 sq ft.

I wss watching YouTube videos and they all use a snapper. I have a compound miter saw. Can I use that or will it destroy the blade? Or tear the planking? I figure a blade is cheaper than the purchase of a snapper.

Scoring and snapping works fine unless you need to cut an L corner. You can also use aviation snips or a jigsaw with a fine-tooth blade for these cuts

Vinyl planking is too soft and pliable for a miter saw.

I scored it with a utility knife. Worked great. I did buy some sort of expensive blade from lowes, not specific to flooring, but it worked well.
