Which is a better way to program a thermostat? Example: +1 over set temp (set at 81, turns on at 82, shuts off at 80) or just have it turn on at 81 and shut off at 80.

Mine clicks on at 1° above, and clicks off 1° under. Heat works the same way, just in reverse.

Speaking of which, it's 67F in my house and I'm freezing. Y'all send some of that dry heat my way.

I usually set the span to max. This minimizes short-cycling, allows the HVAC to run more efficiently, and more effectively moves air around the spaces.

I've found that 1°F / .5°C gives the most uniform temperature. I tried 3°F above and below, and that made it alternating cold and hot.
