Heather Bergsma...Olympic speed skater.

Heather is from my home town, High Point, N.C. This town has “Heather mania” and everyone here is pulling for her. She has held the world record in the 1500 since 2015 but finished a disappointing 8th this week. She has several more chances at a medal including the 1000 which is her best distance. Does anyone here have a small town local favorite in the Olympics?

Heather finished 5th in the thousand meter event this morning. Her next best chance will be in the 500 meter event tomorrow. Not looking good for the American women right now.

Oddly enough, we have couple guys from the area that have become Korean citizens and are playing men's hockey for them.
