Hi everyone,

My ECU is storing an alternator FR terminal code.

It is a 4 pin alternator and just wonder what the 4 wires would be for and how to decipher which one each is?

Of the 4 pins/wires I know only which one the FR signal is and for testing purposes I'd like to know what the other 3 are.

I'm only seeing a 2-wire connection on the alternator diagram for an '03 Diamante.

The RD/WT wire comes from fuse 8 in the engine compartment relay box, and the WT wire comes from the generator relay in that same box. The generator relay passes power from fuse 12 in the interior fuse box.

Usually it's field pos, field neg, +12V voltage sense (to cover for loss on the big wire), dash warning light, and big-lug positive out.

Thanks guys,

It's not for my Diamante, it's for a Mitsubishi Mirage with a 6A12 engine swap from an FTO.

It is throwing an "Alternator FR Terminal" error and has a 4 pin type plug.
I've replaced the alternator and tested a different ECU but the error still shows up.

So to do more testing I am trying to figure out which wire is which
