Can these two filters interchange besides the 1515 having a silicone ADBV and lower burst pressure of 290 vs the 1452 having a nitrile ADBv and burst pressure of 415 psi? All other specs are the same. I'd be using it on a '96 F150 with the 302 V8. the 1515 is the spec'd filter.

Both should work fine if burst pressure and ADBV material is the only difference. I'd go with silicone ADBV if using the filter for long OCI or in really cold weather.

For any filter , in any weather.

A silicone ADBV isn't always needed depending on use conditions, as I mentioned before. But yeah, it certainly doesn't hurt to always use a filter with a silicone ADBV.

I use the 1515 on the Harley, silicon is a must on that toaster. Bust pressure of 200+ psi, with bypass opening at 8. Internal bypass will be open long before burst pressure is achieved, and if you manage to blow it up, you are doing something wrong. My guess is the more structurally sound filter will filter less, with more coarse fibers giving it ability to withstand such pressures.
