PH3980 Cut Open

~3750 miles with $2 QSUD 10w30 off my 1997 Blazer. This is the first filter I cut open with my new Longacre oil filter cutter. I am trying to keep the OCI's low because I believe it was neglected by the PO's and I know the LIM gaskets are failing. I haven't had to add coolant yet so that's a plus. Once they are replaced, I'll probably run a few 500 mile OCI's and perhaps a 1000-2000 then step it up to 5k.

Pay no attention to the small slit in the end cap or the small sliver of paint.

That is a big filter. Looks good.

Isn't a proper filter cutter so much easier?

Filter looks ok, really uneven pleat spacing.

I used to run a lot of those when I still had GM stuff around here, always the same good results too. Thanks for the cut and post.
