I use mostly real butter, but I use margarine sometimes, because it won't scorch like butter. I mostly use it to fry an egg in,or baste onto a potato before baking or grilling. What's the best tasting one? I always buy Bluebonnet.

Olivio tastes pretty good and cheap. Smart Balance is another good one but a little more expensive. That's what my mom likes since I go grocery shopping for her.

The regular version is best. I don't care for the Lite version since it doesn't melt.

Margarine is artificial. Basically a poison imo. Stick to butter, olive oil, or other natural oils. Even lard is better than margarine. Butter has some health benefits...not all saturated fats are bad...depends on how much and how often. I wouldn't eat margarine any more than extra trans fats.

Avoid anything that has partially hydrogenated fats even if it says 0g trans fat on the nutritional label.

This. I use extra virgin olive oil almost daily. Its much better for you than most other fats. I use it to cook eggs as well.

Ditch the margarine in it's entirety...it IS horrid evil stuff.

If you're worried about butter browning, find some ghee...or use Coconut oil, but it's not my fave flavour on eggs.

Canola oil was originally known as rapeseed before Canada started pushing it so much, hence the name... CANadian OiL (A) LOL. do some research on rapeseed. You might not use it so freely afterwards.

We use coconut oil for anything that is cooked in a skillet. Changes the taste slightly, but it's not bad. Plus the coconut oil is really good for you and doesn't have quite the issues high heat and olive oil have.

I've gone exclusively to coconut oil for cooking as it handles the higher temps better than olive oil.

Seems to taste good and works for us

One of the first signs of arterial blockage is ED. If you enjoy having to take Viagra, then by all means keep eating margarine.

We now know that margarine is more heart deadly than bacon, eggs and butter. That excess carbs and sugar do more damage than healthy fats... Which btw signal your body to stop eating sooner. That salt has little influence on blood pressure, especially if you exercise it out in sweat.

Funny how every recommendation the medical community made over the last 50 years only served to increase our reliance on their services. And they still pitch their low fat diets which result in overeating. And obesity.

PS
"Low fat" anything usually has a ton of sugar or more predictably corn syrup to replace the gooey mouth feel of fat.

Isn't margarine close to being a plastic? molecule wise... That's what the wife claims. Stick to real butter.
