are these usually replaced in pairs or just the leaking one? 5.7 hemi. How long are they expected to last? Thanks all

If it's easy to do both of them it probably wouldn't hurt, if it's a transverse jobber and one side of the engine is an absolute nightmare to get to and that's the one that's not leaking then just fix the leaking one that's easy to get to. Valve cover gaskets usually last like 10 years-ish

Depends on the engine.

Toyota VCG will last well over 100k miles or closer to 10 yrs.

BMW VCG will last the lesser of 5 yrs or 90k miles.

If the one is leaking, the other is likely not far behind. They've both been through the same amount of heat cycling and pressure. Plus, the spark plug tube seals could be leaking without an external leak.

Do them both, and maybe (all 16) plugs if they're close to due, since the coils have to come off anyways.

Transverse mounted hemi? Now that would be interesting.

OP, if one is leaking, I'm sure the other isn't far behind (providing its original). Might as well do them both if you have the time
