I have a several gallons of Chevron dino and Valvoline synthetic oil left over from a diesel truck I sold in 2012. Should the oil still be good, or should I just bring the oil in for recycle? I have a friend with a 2010 Ram who could use it.

It's still in the sealed containers and stored in an air conditioned room off the garage where the temperature has not dropped below 60degF or over 80degF.

Cardboard oil cans get soft. I would suggest decanting their contents into a plastic bottle.

Old, but not that old. No more than seven years old.

It's perfectly fine.

A friend of mine just did a VOA on a bucket of 10 year old Rotella 15w-40 to see if he could use it. It was just like the day it was made. Use it.
