Shell doesn't share much about this oil besides some viscosity numbers.

I got some numbers for Detergent and Antiware Additives from couple VOA posted here on BITOG and I liked what I saw.

Would be helpful to know more before I try this in my Golf but can't find anywhere, like:

CCS @ -30°C
Pour Point °C
Flash Point °C
HTHS
MRV VI

Searched all over to no avail.

I wouldn't use it in a VW as it has no certifications. I would bet that the HTHS and NOACK are not up to VW snuff. Your car would be happiest with a 502/505.

Looks like it's mainly marketed to fleets that have some gassers. It primarily says it's for Diesels but allowable for gas.

Chevron Delo XLE and XSP are SN/CK4 if you are looking for other "multi vehicle" options.

Given it's ACEA E6 rated that means
HTHS >= 3.5 cP
Noack SA Phos
So similar SAPS, Noack and ZDDP levels to Dexos1 oil but with a higher HTHS (min oil film thicknesses) for heavy duty engines. Same HTHS and Noack limit as a Euro A3/B4 oil.

From Lotl above, it's SN rated (not SN-Plus) so best to assume it's not developed with LSPI control for TDI engines. Unless someone has better data.

Ref ACEA sequences:

There has been a lot of discussion as to whether this oil is or is not SN Plus rated, see thread linked below:

https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/foru...67/shell-rotella-t6-5w-30-sn-plus-rating

I have used this in a Hyundai GDI and know of many who have used it in a Subaru WRX and Forester XT both with the FA20F engine all without issue.

Have that oil in my Subaru and Ram in signature now. Great oil and was free -- cant beat that. Personally, have never seen it on the shelves anywhere around my location.

Good to know, thank you

SN Plus rated in that link. But not ILSAC GF-5. It's a go for some VWs. But not a real good fit for my Koreans.
Rotella T6 is good oil, as is similar Mobil-1 ESP and Delo XSP.
