That's what I thought too... until I read this:

"Of those 28 global launches slated for the 2005-2007 fiscal years, seven will be all-new vehicles.

Along with the Cube, Nissan at a media event here also reiterates plans to bring the ultra-performance Skyline GT-R States-side as well. (See related story: Ghosn Promises Skyline GT-R for 2007)" http://wardsauto.com/ar/auto_nissan_rolls_dice/index.htm

Why put Red Line in if you're changing the oil every 3,100 miles?

Red Line would be my choice, but the OCI shouldn't be less than 5,000 MILES.

Red Line is the best oil out there for hi-performance engines.

I disagree. Motul is where it's at. Go with the complex esters in the new 300V.

Why's that? What makes them better?

FWIW
It's my understanding that most "high-end" synthetic oils use complex esters.

complex ester is simply:
An ester blend; produced by the mixing of finished esters under controlled conditions.
OR
made at the reaction level by the mixing of various acids with one or more alcohols.

Merli!

Awesome Car!!!!!!

As for oils My 2 cents:

In winter Redline 10w-40,.. in summer M1 15w-50 or Castrol TWS 10w-60.
