Here in Colorado in response to the big snow storms, the roads and interstates have been saturated with Magnesium Chloride. Noticed a little bit of discoloration/corrosion on the chrome trim on the side of my Wife's '05 GMC Yukon. We will now wash every time we drive.

Is there anything that would be safe to use for polishing this chrome and possibly remove some of the discoloration ????

If you are referring to that chrome spear along the sides, I believe that is plastic covered with a "plastic chrome" coating. The grille is like that too. I have a Sierra and can see the "chrome" lifting in spots on my spears. Only chrome plated steel are the bumpers.

On the chromed plastic about the strongest thing I'd recommend is a mild cleaner wax. Several wax mfrs have told me all they suggest is a glass cleaner or other mild products.

On the bumpers, Mothers chrome polish is perfect. Most auto parts stores sell it as does Walmart.
