In my 2002 Dodge Dakota 4WD, I'm looking for off-the-shelf equivalents for the cryptic numbers given by D-C in the manual. I know that the transfer case takes ATF, but am looking for a good synthetic for the 5-speed gearbox and the F&R differentials. This vehicle is does not tow, nor is it used off-road. Anyone know of a good online cross-reference?

Basically any synthetic gear oil in the correct weight will serve you well in the diffs, maybe the gearbox as well. What does DC recommend?

Personally, I use Amsoil in my Jeeps.

I finally found a reference for the differentials- you are correct, 75W-90 is good. Still can't find a generic recommendation for the 5-speed box, just the proprietary "MoPar MTF 4874464." The transfer case takes "MoPar ATF+4 Typ 9602." Whatever those are.....

Sychromesh is your MTF. Try:
Amsoil MTF
Redline MTL
RoyalPurple Synchromax
SpecialtyFormulations MTFglide, Synchroglide, or MTL-P
BG Synchroshift II
Torco MTF-L or MTF-R

Any synthetic 75w90 gear oil can be used. Some might need LSD additive.

For the x-case, ATF+4 is a synthetic. You can use Amsoil ATF, the Valvoline ATF+4, or one of the above MTFs.
