1998 f150 v6 - 5000mile oci havoline or pzoil or motorcraft 5w20 - 105,000 miles mcrft oil filter

1998 expedition 5.4 v8 motorcraft 5w20 and filter 5000 oci - 84,000 miles.

2002 honda civic 0w20 m1 7500 oci going to torco 5w20 same oci - wix filter- 34,000 miles (m1 works great, may go back to it if torco doesn't perform as well) btw: did not see a mileage improvement with m1.

coming soon 2004 nissan sentra 1.8s. Came with m1 10w30, plan on running m1 5w30 or asl 5w30 for 8000 oci or pennzoil 5w30 for 5000 oci and wix filter...still thinking about it. 4000 miles on clock.

02 Accord V6. 40 K miles. Pennzoil 5W-20, changed at 3-4,000 miles consistently. Using Honda OEM filters (the previous type, POH-305).

--'01 Toyota Tundra V-8, 37,000 miles, Schaeffer's #703 10W-30 syn blend, good analysis @ 10k, will sample again @ ~12,000 miles

--'96 Volvo 850 turbo five, 107,000 miles, Schaeffer's #10W-30, 5000 mile ODI ('cuz it has high nitration, I think from a clogged PVC system, and it's a big job to get into that).

Those are the winter oils. In the summer I use Schaeffer's #700 15W-40 syn blend in both. (The 15W-40 actually has cold-cranking viscosity numbers that would make it an 8W...if there was such a thing.)

--'03 VW Passat V-6, 9000 miles, Schaeffer's #701 5W-30, 5000 mile ODI ('cuz it gets little-old-lady driving...my momma-in-law).

'94 Acura Integra- 148K miles every 3k miles. Using 10W30 Chevron Supreme and Supertech filters.

I chose Chevron because 1)its only $0.69/qt 2) its a very good dino for the price.

I chose Supertech Filters after reading favorable reviews, compared to the old Frams I use.

I've always used 3K mile OCI's and just got used to doing it. I could easily extend the miles, but at about $6/oil change, I'll prob stick to the same OCI.

I've used M1/Amsoil/RL. I'm using a M1 mix right now for 7,500 miles. I will continue to use M1 and Amsoil oils as I think these are the best two for your $$. RL if I had a high performance car.

Car: 2000 Civic SiR

Oil: Mobil 1 5W30

OCI: 5000-6000 km (due to "severe conditions" schedule plus some short trips)

Filter: Genuine OEM Honda

'02 Ranger 4.0L, Mobil 1 5w-30 @ 5K (but curently trying M1 0w-30) as per manual.
Battered '87 Chevy Astro 4.3L ex-phone co. work van, 123k but it actually runs pretty well. Alternate between plain Valvoline and Max Life, change every 3 months regardless of mileage. 5w-30 in winter, 10w-30 summer.
'99 Grand Am 2.4L, wife's, Mobil 1 5w-30 @ 5k, the oil change light comes on about then.

1998 Ford Escort mobil1 5w30 15k or 6 months and then 10w30 for the summer, use Amsoil filters.

1999 GMC Safari Amsoil 5w30 in winter, and going to try 10w40 this summer, Amsoil filters. Same OCI as above.

Steve

The following vehicles are driven less than 4,000 miles per year:Oil changed in fall and spring.
'92 Mazda Protege 1.8L ; Amsoil ASL 5w30 winter, Pennzoil 5w30 summer.
'96 Mazda B4000 4.0L ; Mobil1 5w30 winter, Pennzoil 5w30 summer.
'00 Ford F150 5.4L under warranty change every 3 months, Chevron Supreme Synthetic 5w30 winter, Chevron Supreme 5w30 summer.
Starting next fall all will use Chevron syn or conventional, depending on season.

The normal, planned menues include:

'93 Kawasaki ZX-11 Amsoil AMO 10W-40 @ 4K OCI
'87 F250 Chevron Supreme 10W-30 @ 3K OCI
'91 420SEL Pennzoil LongLife 15W-40 @ 5K OCI
'92 Subaru SVX Chevron Supreme 10W-30 @3K OCI
(a freebie @ the Stealership since it was new)
'74 Kawasaki H2 Mach IV 750cc Triple uses
Havoline 2-Stroke as needed, no filter, EVER!
'73 450SE will probably be using Chevron Delo 400
15W-40 @ 3K OCI once the 2nd Auto-Rx rinse
treatment is done just to compare to the LL

Have a case of Havoline Semi-Synthetic 10W-30, & a quart of Synthetic 5W-40 that I will probably use, somewhere along the line. I also just can't pass up buying cases of 15W-40 SL/CI house brand oils when they are $1/quart since I can always use it in everything but the 2-Stroke. Those Mercedes V8's can use up a lot of oil at 8+ quarts per change. The recycling guys probably wonder why I can put out 4 gallons of used oil over one weekend

Filters that apply as they are available, on sale usually, including factory, Wix, Pennzoil, Purolator Premium, and yes, even Fram, on occasion!

1998 Pontiac Grand Prix, 3.8 L36
German Castrol, Bosch filter, every 3-4000 miles.

I keep such a short interval because I'm still kinda nervous about running it longer than that. Plus, I drive it really hard and will be modifiying it a bit soon as well, so I figure it can't hurt.

I plan on trying Royal Purple again this summer, because last summer when I first tried it, my car really seemed to like it. However, it also seems to like the German Castrol, so who knows? Maybe it was just the Mobil 1 it didn't like.

1994 honda civic 1.6L dohc, castrol syntec 0w-30 ,oem toyo roki oil filter, 5000 miles

1980 volkswagon rabbit, shell rotella syn. 5w-40,stp oil filter, every 6 months

1989 ford aerostar, chevron supreme 10w-40, supertech oil filter, 4000 miles

1998 gmc savana, chevron supreme 10w-30, ac delco oil filter, 5000 miles

1972 dodge van, mobil delvac 15w-40, stp oil filter, 3000 miles

the ford aerostar and gmc savana gets driven about 1000 miles a week so oil changes occured to frequently at 3000 miles so i had to extend the OCI's for those vehicles.

2000 Ranger 4.0 - M1 5W30, 6 mos or 6K mi... FL-1A Motorcraft filter. Thinking of switching to Rotella 5W-40 to quiet valvetrain noise a bit. It mostly gets short trip driving.

1997 Subaru Outback - M1 15W50 summer, thinking of Rotella 5W40 for winter. I was using M1 10W30 year round but am starting to notice some consumption (95K mi). I use the Purolator PureOne filter, 6 mos. or 6K. This car sees some rough duty.

1990 Subaru Justy - PZ Long-Life 15W40 all year round, 6 mos or 3K. Several leaks and uses oil but it loves this oil, runs smooth and quiet and EZ start-up all year. Pennzoil filter.

1994 Chevy S-10 2.2 - Long Life 15W40 all year round. 6 mos or 3K. Uses oil and noisy as all 2.2s are.

1972 Ford F100 - Long Life 15W40 and FL-1A. 3K or 6 mos.

1965 Ford Falcon - Long Life 15W40 and FL-1A, every 6 mos.

1965 Ford Ranchero - Mobil 1 15W50, remote filter setup with 2 FL-1As. Every 6 mos.

I will be posting a breakdown of oils used, intervals and filters from this post when I get the oppurtunity.

1992 Chevrolet Silverado 4X4 plow truck - Amsoil 0W-30 Series 2000, OCI 1 yr/unlimited miles

2001 GMC Sierra Ext Cab SLT Z71 - Amsoil 10W-30 PAO, OCI 1 yr/unlimited miles

2001 Honda Rancher ATV 4x4 - Amsoil 10W-40 M/C, OIL 1 yr/unlimited miles

2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 - Amsoil 10W-30 PAO, OCI 1 yr/unlimited miles

All vehicle's have Amsoil gear lubes, grease, oil and air filters.

The term unlimited to me means that miles are never a factor in changing the oil in these vehicle. I use nothing Amsoil products since 1977.

Note-All but the 1992 Chevy were purchased new and had synthetics installed within 100 miles of use with the exception of the 2001 GMC because it was almost 500 miles from the dealer I got from to my home.

How many miles do you have on your 1992 truck? I have a 1995 E150 w/ a 351W and using 0W-30 i was wondering if i should switch to Delvac 1 or even the Amsoil 5W-30 HDD since its thicker.
