Was cleaning up with some non-chlorinated brake cleaner and it sure smelled and evaporated just like the camping fuel I use in my coleman stove and lantern.

If so, I'll be buying by the gallon instead of the expensive spray can way!

If you have any old rubber brake parts around, try putting them in a can of it. Likely in a couple of hours, the part will have swelled to twice its size.

Oops, maybe not a boot. They go on the outside and are meant to protect the other parts by keeping damaging substances out.

Brake cleaner is around 2 bucks a can around here (Richmond, VA). The garden hose is a good way to clean brake dust from your drum brakes. I always use brake cleaner to clean the new shoes and the drum after I get everything together because I leave greasy fingerprints everywhere.
