B2300 frame repair.

Back story; frame crossmembers disappeared causing the spare tire and evaporative emissions canister to basically fall off the truck

Removed the bed and decided not a fixit job for me; had a local shop send it to their welding guy.

Put the bed back on after painting on some carwell; vehicle is now a fair weather vehicle

Last picture is the gas tank crossmember which he fabricated a brace instead of replacing the entire mount.

Kudos for my neighbors for not complaining about the pickup bed in my front yard.

Shocks look to be a bit past their prime

Surprised, it looks like original leaf spring shackles.

I have a 1997 Ranger that I wished I had looked under before buying. The frame is mostly OK except for a rust hole in the frame right by the gas tank. I've got a plan for fixing it. But my Ranger has had the leaf spring front mounts and rear shackles both replaced (and a hole in the bed where the rear shackle punched it).

Seriously. I guess I struck gold with my truck not having any rust when I bought it last month.
