For those of you with this ailment, what creams or methods work to keep the pain at bay? My hand joints are just achy and hot. Bengay and Aspercreme don't penetrate deep enough and I'm not too fond of taking oral NSAIDs.

Have you tried CBD oil? Voltaren just came out with OTC arthritis cream.

Try something called Voltaren. It just became OTC a couple fo weeks ago. I used it on my right knee and the 85% of my pain disappeared in 20 minutes. I told my good friend; his wife has bad arthritis in her hands. It provided very fast relief for her as well. It's freaky how fast this stuff works! It's an NSAID, not a numbing agent.

Get some today!

I'm not throwing stones at you, Leo. I've tried topical and oral CBD. No help.

This might sounds strange, but Voltaren works so well for me and my friend's wife it makes me kind of uneasy.

Try 100% tart cherry juice. Its 50ยข a day. I have drank 8 oz a day for longer than I can remember. The most effective and cost effective has been the Indian Summer Brand. It is on WalMart.com and is shipped freet, with a $35 order.

This is from the Montmorency Tart Cherry. FYI 5 red tart cherries have the same anti-inflammatory effect as one 325mg aspirin. Don't expect instant results, as the properties of the cherries takes a while to build up in your system. Works great for sore feet and gout. It helped my hands survive doing cold wet work in a Produce Dept.

Link to product.

Wow yes great tips so far. I've seen the Voltaren at the store but it's pricey.. about $18 for a tube if I recall?

Haven't tried CBD cream but it's on the list as well.

And Hermann - Very cool outside the box idea. I've drank tart cherry juice in the past for gout and didn't realize its usefulness for arthritis. Will buy a jug or two and see if it helps.

It is about $18 a tube. But try it anyway. See if it works for you. I just started using it 3 days ago. My knee pain was driving me crazy and was affecting my outlook on life. I was eating 1800mg of Ibuprofen per day, for months. It did very little.

Perhaps $18 might seem pricey, but if you try it and it works, at least you know there's something that can help you if your hands get bad. Maybe you won't use it all the time, but when your hands are killing you at least you know you have something that will help. That gives you a little control over the situation. Know what I'm saying?

If I were you I would see a doctor.
I waited waaaaay to long to deal with carpal tunnel in my left wrist.
Finally had surgery. What should have been 100% recovery, I have a lotta nerve damage.
The surgery helped a lot, but the damage is done.

Go see a doctor.

My wife suffered from ankle pain. She used Voltaren and it was amazing. The next day she had no pain. Worth every penny.

An important comment. I am only using it twice a day, and not even a full dose. I suggest you do the first day at full dose, and then apply it only twice a day, and at a reduced dose. I am only using a daily total about 25% of the maximum recommended.

Scott

PS If you can't already tell, I'm really stoked about this stuff. My knee has not been this pain free in years. Fingers crossed for you!

If the Voltaren works, get ur Dr to prescribe it for you. Let insurance help pay.

If its rheumatoid arthritis you might be lacking in vit D. My Dr found that was the case with me.
