My 2006 Toyota Sequoia will turn 250,000 miles in the next few weeks. I always run 10w30. We are going to take it on a long road trip this summer in hot weather. Any advantage to going with 10w40 or 20w50 for just this trip. The SUV has no problems currently.

You could always substitute a quart of 10w30 with 10w40 just to thicken slightly. My GMC truck holds 6 quarts so it got 5qts 5w30 and 1qt 10w40.

Sure, why not?
life's too short to not try new things.

Worse thing that'll happen is you'll consume a little more gas.

How high a number will this go ??

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If it has no issues on 10W-30 keep using it.

You could treat it to a 10W-30 High Mileage oil, HM oils are usually made on the thicker end of the viscosity grade.

Just need some butter and garlic...

couple days ago 5 qt. of M1 EP 10W30 was $24.xx at Wal-Mart ... Only $2 more than PP.
I was excited because it's getting harder to find the EP in 10W30. It burns none in my car
