My car was pulling to the left after a wheel alignment.

I took it back to the alignment shop and the guy said to swap the 2 front tires left to right.

I did so and now it pulls a bit to the right.

So it suggests the tires were causing this.

I have checked the tires, they look fine and tread depth as well as pressure is the same.

What about the tires could be causing this pull?

Tires are 6 year old Pirelli P7s with good tread amount remaining.

It sounds like you might have a tire(s) with radial pull.

If it's "Radial Pull, you swap the tires side to side and it should now pull the other way… It's caused by the belts in a radial tire not being centered exactly. If you swap the tires side to side and it still pulls to the right, then something else is causing it.

Yup, radial pull!
You could now try swapping one side front to back. This will tell you which tire has the pull.

Rotate both front tires to the rear.

ah …. Mmmmm …….

You can wear conicity (what some refer to as radial pull) INTO a tire - so the cause of the pull might be tire wear caused by the misalignment!

The only way to correct this is to replace the tires, or as Lubener suggested, move the tires to the rear - but they will have to stay there until worn out!
