I don't think I've ever owned a car that I haven't had tinted. Granted, I used to work at a tint shop and am still close friends with them.
If you're in GA, you're looking at no darker than 35% all around on a car. Generally, that means getting a tint with a percentage in the upper 30's to lower 40's (IE 37%-41%) since there is a small amount of tint even in 'untinted' factory glass. Rules are different for trucks/SUV's, but the front two windows are still supposed to be no lower than 35%.
For example, on both of my Honda products I had 21% tint installed. It will read approx 11-13% on a tint meter.
Fun fact about Georgia. A window tint ticket is a finger printable offense. Meaning that if you get pulled over and ticketed for it, you're supposed to go to jail and be printed and bond out. Not sure why they wrote the law that way, but they did, although it is extremely rare to see it done that way. I think I've seen it done in my facility maybe twice, and that was both times on top of bunch of drug charges. Never seen someone come in for just that.
