2014 Honda Odyssey has a CEL code P3497 - Cylinder deactivation system bank 2.

I searched the web and found that this code is for the front oil pressure sensor, either the oil level is low or faulty sensor. I changed the oil a week before the light came on so I double checked and oil level and that was good I replaced the sensor with a new OEM sensor, erased the code and it comes back a few days later. What else could be causing this code?

A bad/sticking spool valve, dirty spool valve filter (sometimes there is one on the oil filter pad also as well as in the spool valve) can also cause this code also.
Check the engine for sludge and varnish.

I did find a service bulletin covering this code: Honda SB 13-055

It's something to keep in mind, as the relief valve spring plays a prominent role in oil pressure, which is what drives this system.

I guess i'll have to dig in and replace the relief valve spring sooner than later.

How dangerous is it driving the van with the code / issue?
