Is it GENERALLY not a good idea to spray cleaning solvents around engine parts that have two sealed surfaces with any kind of cured RTV sealant??? Is it possible that even a small amount of overspray could gradually weaken the bond of the sealant and start gradual fluid leaks???

Don't let it sit on rubber/silicon parts. Spray on and wipe off. If you need to decrease something use mild detergents like Purple power or something like that.
